At Halbuki Linguist Cooperative we believe in the power of language to connect people, preserve cultures, and build a more just world. Our mission is to expand access to language education, especially in less commonly taught languages, while supporting teachers and linguists who dedicate their work to keeping languages alive.
We are always looking for talented, passionate educators to join our team. If you have experience teaching one of the languages we currently offer, especially with a background in linguistics or language pedagogy, we would love to hear from you.
Even if your expertise is in a language we do not yet teach, we welcome your application. We are open to launching new programs when we find the right instructor. Estonian Language Instructor (Remote)
We are hiring a part-time Estonian Language Instructor to teach adult learners online (remote). Candidates must have experience teaching Estonian as a foreign language, native or near-native fluency in Estonian, a background in linguistics is preferable, and strong English skills. Afternoons and evenings in US availability required (2:30–7:00 PM US West Coast Time). Competitive hourly pay and the chance to teach in a supportive, linguist-led program.
Greek Children's Language Instructor (In-person)
We are hiring part-time Greek Language Instructors to teach children in person in Oakland, CA. Candidates must have experience teaching a language to children (Greek strongly preferred), native or near-native fluency in Greek, strong English skills, and a background in linguistics or pedagogy. Classes run in 8-week terms, 1–3 times per week. Competitive hourly pay and the chance to teach in a supportive, linguist-led cooperative.
Turkish Language Instructor (In-person)
We are hiring part-time Turkish Language Instructors to teach adult learners in the San Francisco Bay Area (Oakland/SF). Candidates must have experience teaching Turkish as a foreign language, native or near-native fluency in Turkish, a background in linguistics and strong English skills. Afternoon/evening availability required (3:30–7:00 PM). Competitive hourly pay and the chance to teach in a supportive, linguist-led program.

Russian Language Instructor (Remote)
We are hiring part-time Russian Language Instructors to teach adult learners online (remote). Candidates must have at least 3 years of language teaching experience, native or near-native fluency in Russian, strong English skills, and a background in linguistics or pedagogy. Classes run in 8-week terms, with 1–3 sessions per week (1.5 hours each), scheduled on Pacific Time days/evenings. Competitive hourly pay and the chance to teach in a supportive, linguist-led cooperative.
