Service Description
8 weeks of Greek language classes (one 1.5 hour session per week) - 12 hours of instruction, and additional homework review and support from instructors in between class sessions. This class is part of the 1st year of our Greek Program, which brings students to A1 Modern Greek CEFR competency. This class covers the Greek alphabet, Greek pronunciation, and stress. Key grammatical topics include the essential verbs είμαι (to be) and έχω (to have), and an introduction to the present tense using first conjugation verbs like μένω, έχω, and κάνω. Students learn personal pronouns (including their weak forms) and possessive pronouns, clearly distinguishing between the two. We also introduce the concepts of definite and indefinite articles and the four grammatical cases. Noun categories will be introduced based on common endings for all three noun genders. Finally, we cover demonstrative pronouns and key interrogative words (Ποιος, Πόσος, Πότε, Πού), as well as the distinction between πηγαίνω and πάω (to go) and θέλω and μου αρέσει (I want vs. I like). Vocabulary covered includes Countries, Numbers, Time, Professions, Weather Objects in the classroom, Daily routine, Means of transport, Clothes and Colors in Greek. Speaking skills focus on talking about where you are from, how old you are, what your job is, what your daily routine is. Talking about things I like (clothes, countries). Writing skills covered include writing basic SVO (Subject–Verb–Object) sentences in Greek.

However, we do record classes to share with students who missed class whenever asked to do so in advance, so if you know you will miss class, please let us know and our instructors will record the session and share it with you afterwards so you can follow along asynchronous.
