Service Description
8 weeks of Modern Greek group language classes (one 1.5 hour session per week) - 12 hours of instruction, and additional homework review and support from instructors in between class sessions. This class is part of the 2nd year of our Greek Program, which brings students to A2 Modern Greek CEFR competency. The emphasis at this level is on students’ exposure to a variety of Greek text types such as articles, essays, literary excerpts, and reviews. Students are also introduced to phonetic phenomena (assimilation, synizesis) to approach a more authentic pronunciation of Greek. Grammar covered at this level includes continuing to develop a deeper knowledge of the Greek passive voice, transformation between active and passive constructions, direct and indirect (embedded) questions in Greek, absence of definite and indefinite articles, Greek vowel deletion and assimilation phenomena. The vocabulary covered in this level is basic scientific vocabulary related to technology, advertising, and culture in Greek. Speaking skills covered include expressing opinions and formulating arguments on topics of personal interest in Greek.

However, we do record classes to share with students who missed class whenever asked to do so in advance, so if you know you will miss class, please let us know and our instructors will record the session and share it with you afterwards so you can follow along asynchronous.
